When you are deciding a theme party, the biggest question is “which theme”? And this can take some time to decide upon. It helps to know what occasion you’re planning for, like for your child’s birthday, you would choose a superhero theme and not a renaissance theme. Fairy Tale Parties
Children grow up with fairy tales and having a theme party based on their favourite fairy tale character would be a great hit with them. You can have a Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast theme party. Comic/Cartoon Characters
Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the new favourites, Shrek, The Incredibles or some more of the Looney Tunes are a great idea for a theme party. The all time favourite would have to be Tom and Jerry. So, why not plan accordingly and let them have a “Looney time”?
Jungle book Party
Animal antics are some things your boisterous child will be able to associate with, so if you want to go back to the jungle ways, a Jungle Book party is a great idea. Dressing up as different animals can be very entertaining and the children will enjoy the food if you cut them out in animal patterns or have animal based pastries and sandwiches.

Eras Party
The 20s, 50s, 80s, etc, are a fun party theme. You can dress in flapper dresses for your 20s theme party or psychedelic flower power clothes for a 60s theme. You can do a little research and plan your food accordingly. Decorations can also be in the same strain and you should have an interesting party on hand. Masquerade parties are very famous, as they let you come as you want and the only extra thing you have to do is get a really interesting mask to cover your face. It is a lot of fun, as you don’t know who is behind the mask and searching for your friends can become an enjoyable task.
Hollywood Theme Party
Everyone wants to be a STAR and what better way to do this than to have a Hollywood Theme party? You can plan your music according to famous movie soundtracks. Hollywood movies can be very inspiring and there have been many famous characters, like Don Corleone, Star Wars characters, James Bond, etc. So go ahead and choose your favourite movie star and emulate him for that great theme party.
Superhero Party
Who said theme parties are only for children? Everyone needs to let their inner child out and, as such, superhero parties are for adults, too. You can come as Superman if you dare to wear your underwear on the outside or you can be the suave Batman. Everyone has their favourite superhero, so why not be him/her for one day and have fun?
Hawaiian Party
Come summer and Luaus are a great party idea. Everyone loves a great Hawaiian party, especially when it gets hot, that’s when everyone likes a good poolside party. You can get colourful leis and welcome your guests with a cool drink and decorate the area with palm tree cut-outs. Your menu can include a majority of seafood and get some Hawaiian music to set the tone of the party.
